Nepal

Nepal is a geographically smaller nation located in between the two giants, India and China. A former monarchy, Nepal is today a federal democratic nation.

The highlights of Nepal are its high towering peaks in the North, popularly known as the Himalayas, and the lush tropical forests in the south, which is home to many rare and endemic animals. The varying geography of the country offers a great experience to the tourists. You can choose to trek at high altitude, hike through deep gorges and valleys or tour around the country through endless winding roads.

There are more to this small nation than the Mount Everest or Gautam Buddha. Kathmandu is a globally popular destination and the former hub of the Hippies’. Dolpo and Mustang are the rain-shadow areas, which are rarely visited due to its restriction and discreet nature. Chitwan is home to the Royal Bengal Tigers and One-horned Rhinoceros. Khumbu is home to one of the highest Buddhist monasteries in the world, and the Far West is home to the pristine Rara Lake. There are thousands of places you can visit in Nepal and hundreds of activities you can indulge in; all you need is to give it a try.

The Legend suggest, Manjushree, a Bodhisattva, visited Nepal in his yore. Then, the Kathmandu valley was under water. He drained out the excess water from the valley by cutting a hill into a gorge, hence, making it habitable. Since then, many Kings and dynasties have ruled the valley and built it to its current glory. Ancient culture, arts and history is the major attraction of Nepal.
