Langtang valley is located in a close proximity to Tibet in the north. A discreet region just 19 km north of Kathmandu, it offers one of the best trekking experiences in Nepal.
Langtang Lirung (7,227 meters) and Yala Peak (5,520 meters) dominates the scenery. The entire trek trail lies inside Langtang National Park and the meager population of the region tends to cater the tourists themselves. The region was heavily devastated during the major earthquake of 2015, however, the locals have rebuilt the region, and today it’s is fully operational.
The trek begins from Syabrubesi. The trail ascends further to Lama Hotel, followed by Kyanjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is a Buddhist religious site and a major stop during the trek. The next day, an early morning hike to Tsergo Ri will offer a best time of the trip. From here, the trail descends all the way to Syabrubesi.
Langtang Trek is suitable for all kinds of hikers. You must be accompanied by a guide to enter the region. Langtang National Park is the first Himalayan national park of Nepal. Established in 1976, it is home to Gosainkunda lake and many rare flora and faunas. Himalayan black bear, Himalayan tahr, Rhesus monkey and Red Panda are few of the exotic animals found inside the park.
Poses challenge for the amateurs. It may require fair level of fitness. Maximum altitude remains around 4000 m – 4500 m and the hike requires around 5-6 hours a day.
Comfortable tourist-class accommodations with character; mix of public and private transport. Star Standard meals at Kathmandu!

Annapurna is the best place on Earth. The route and scenery are breath-taking. The way leading from Machhapuchhre to Annapurna base camp is the best.
I had fun with my friends. The guide is the best! He helped us throughout the trip. I’d suggest you to take Diamox to help prevent altitude sickness. It’s really hard to breath when you reach at the top. All in all a great experience. ~Jessica Mahut (Florida, USA)
