Route description of Khopra Ridge trek
Khopra Ridge trek route follows the same trail to Ghorepani, but then deep down into the valley of Swanta before climbing back up again to a ridge (Khopra Danda) north of Poon Hill. This takes about a day unless you want to break it up into two days and stay at a teahouse in the village Swanta. Top the ridge, you’ll find a single teahouse run by a caretaker that comes up each day from the villages below.
Khopra danda trek, tent can be brought and camped on a small outcrop just up the ridge from the teahouse as an option. The views are superb, both at sunset and sunrise, when the valley filled with clouds below us in late afternoon with Dhaulagiri towering clear above. In the evenings, local yak herds are brought to overnight and graze on the slopes just below us.
Beside that on the top of Khopra we can also enjoy free unlimited faster internet where we can share live of our unforgettable moment of the trek form view point to our friends and family through different social Medias. This facility is only provide in this trek. On the other trekking trail of Nepal we can only use internet facility at hotel by paying certain charges.
From Khopra Danda, it takes a 5-6 hours to reach Paudwar/Tatopani where you can catch a vehicles back to Pokhara. In Paudwar you can visit local cheese factory. As you descend back down into the valley, you’ll pass through villages and terraces and can stop for lunch or even spend an extra night in one of the village teahouses. At Tatopani, you’ll find a built-up hot spring open to the public. OR can directly drive to Pokhara which is about 6-7 hours of drive by jeep. (Road condition up to place names Beni is off road and rest up to Pokhara is good condition drive mostly).
Best time to visit Khopra Danda trek
The weather is the most important factor to trek in any destination because no one is beyond nature. Trekking is Khopra is possible throughout the year but there is ups and downs of every season. The best season to trek to Khopra is autumn and spring as the sky is crystal clear from dusk to dawn, the rain stops and the clouds blocking the sun is clear. Teak during winter and monsoon is difficult due to heavy snowfall and rainfall too.
Poses challenge for the amateurs. It may require fair level of fitness. Maximum altitude remains around 4000 m – 4500 m and the hike requires around 5-6 hours a day.

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu
Arrival Kathmandu, Assistant upon arrival and transfer to Hotel, briefing about the itinerary overnight at hotel
Day 2: Sightseeing around Kathmandu, Trek permit issuance, trek preparations
After breakfast, full-day sightseeing tour at Beautiful ancient cultural and religious heritage to Pashupatinath (famous Hindus temple in South Asia, Buddhanath (Biggest Buddhist stupa in the world), Syambhunath (Buddhist hilltop temple), and Kathmandu City. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara
Early morning breakfast then start our onward journey to Pokhara about 6-7 hours (200km). You will encounter different landscapes of hills and mountains, climate variation, housing pattern of the village in different geographical locations, green landscape, farming land on a seasonable crops and highway goes along on the bank of Trishuli river and Marsyangdi river if you are lucky, you will observe Rafting on that river.
After a long drive will reach at peaceful and beautiful town Pokhara. It is the gateway or world-famous trekking region Annapurna. Or you may take a 30 min flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara enjoying the non-stop mountain scenery and valleys. This option costs an extra $120.
A city with a large lake that offers us magnificent views of various mountains. Dhaulagiri, the whole Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) amongst others. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Drive to Nayapool from Pokhara and start trek to Ulleri (1960 m)
After breakfast about one hour drive to nay pool and then start trek to Ulleri. It will take around 5 to 6 hours to reach Ulleri. Our trail passing through dense forest and countless river crossings. On the way to Ulleri, we will see the lifestyle of local people in the hilly region. Overnight at Ulleri on teahouse
Day 5: Ulleri to Ghorepani (2750 m)
Early morning breakfast at hotel and start trek to Ghorepani, it will take around 5 hours hike to reach Ghorepani passing through Rhododendron forest. Today we ascended to a high elevation around 2750 m. Overnight at Ghorepani on local teahouse.
Day 6: Ghorepani to Poonhill (3200), Poonhill to swanta (2270 m)
Wake up at 5 o’clock early in the morning 45 mins of uphill stairway hike to, Poonhill viewpoint. You will enjoy by observing mesmerizing sunrise views over the beautiful mountain ranges with tea i.e. Mt Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Barashikhar, and Annapurna south and back to Ghorepani. And heading to Swanta, it will take 2 hours of hike to Swanta. Overnight at Swanta
Day 7: Swanta to Chistabang (3026 m)
Today we continue to walk uphill to Chistibang from Swanta. During our uphill walk, we gain about 800m altitudes from the previous day. It will take 5 hours to reach Chistibang through Al Kharka passing and dense forest. The trail is a bit slippery and stieve . Overnight at teahouse in Chistabang
Day 8: Chistibang to Khopra Danda (3660 m)
2 hours of an early uphill hike to Khopra Danda, Acclimation for next day to and rest for whole day enjoying the view of mountain ranges and prepare for the next day. Watching the sunset from Khopra Danda is a major attraction of the trek. Overnight at Khopra Danda
Day 9: Khopra Danda to Khayer Lake (4660 m)
Khopra Danda to Khayer Lake and back to Khopra Danda trail may take about 10-11 hours. It’s going to be a long and difficult day because of the uphill hike to Khayer Lake (glassier lake). The gaining of altitude may be faster is going to be really difficult to reach the holy sacred temple of Khayer Barah temple)
Day 10: Khopra Danda to Paudwar and drive to Pokhara
Today is easy for a walk we continue to walk downhill to Paudwar (Myagdi) from Khopra Danda, it will take 5 hours to reach there. While we reach Paudwar we have some minutes rest and drive back to Pokhara it will take about 5 hours to arrive at Pokhara by jeep. Overnight at Pokhara
Day 11: whole day at Pokhara
Today you have a full day of leisure at Pokhara. You can explore Pokhara by cycling tour, boating at Fewa Lake, rooming around the lakeside, and many more.
Day 12: Drive back to Kathmandu.
After breakfast in the morning transfer to Pokhara Bus Park or airport to Kathmandu. If you traveling by bus which takes 7 hours again on the Prithivi highway along the river and if you prefer a flight which takes only 33 minutes. Arrive in Kathmandu and stay overnight at the Kathmandu hotel.
Day 13: Departure
Today is your last day with us in Nepal. You will escort to the airport for your onward destination with the unforgettable moment of your life from the wonderful Poonhill Trek. Our office representative came to your hotel to pick up and drop you at the airport. Early 2 hr before your flight time.
