Bhutan

Bhutan or the Thunder Dragon Kingdom is a primarily Buddhist nation located at the center of South Asia. It lies in between the India, China and Nepal. A geographically smaller nation, Bhutan is rich in history, Buddhist culture, architecture and natural landscapes. It may be the only country in the world which values “Happiness Index” along with HDI or GDP.

It is also one of the few nations in the world to have preserved the practice of monarchy, and it boasts rich Buddhist architecture, pristine lakes, scenic forested valleys and admirable lifestyle. The population is a meager 742,727(est.2012). Most of the nation is covered with hills,  mountains and forests. Its natural richness makes it a great destination for outdoor activities.

Paro Taktsang or the Tiger’s Nest is the globally popular destinations located in Bhutan. along with it, there are many other destinations where you can wish to trek or tour. Thimpu is the capital city of Bhutan. A planned city, Thimpu is much loved by the tourists for its inhabitants, settlements, monasteries and religious relics.

Masked dances and dance dramas are common traditional features at festivals, usually accompanied by traditional music. If you are lucky, you may get to witness the iconic Chaam dance, during your visit to Bhutan, where the performer dons a huge mask depicting the God and dances around.
