Everest

Everest or Khumbu region is located at the Eastern Nepal. One of the most popular trekking destinations, the region consists of some of the highest mountains in the world, namely; Mount Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse. The trail leading towards the base camp makes up for the greater Everest Base Camp trek.

A destination popularized by the Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Sherpa in 1953 is today’s most popular travel destination in the world. Since the commercialization of Everest in the 1980s, the region has been popular for various trekking activities. More than 70,000 tourists visit the region every year.

You must fly from Kathmandu to Lukla to reach the Khumbu region, otherwise, you must take a longer route leading through the Jiri village. You can choose from the usual Everest base camp trek to Gokyo lakes trekking, High passes trekking and other short treks. Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November) are two best times of the year to visit the Everest region.
